Stupid shop yesterday, got friends coming round to make cookies tomorrow so had lots of odd things to buy for that and still have to sort party food out for them. Am away next week and a friend is coming round to teenager and house sit so that might be a bit alarming!! Am most upset because I cant find the receipt anywhere and it also has work stuff on it that I need to claim back, am going to do a thorough search later , am usually so careful as well :-(.Eat food, not edible food-like items. Hi mummy2my2grils,
I made sweet potatoes on Sunday for the first time and my lot loved them....they said they reminded them of parsnips. I just did them peeled and roasted in the oven with some garlic and black pepper.
There are lots of ideas for different ways of using them in this thread:

mummy2mygirls wrote: »Ok been to mrT today and spent a fair bit (65.94) but for me and for a full weeks worth i think i did well, still got places to improve but on the way to saving lots
normally i would easierly have spent over £100 so im a happy mummy...also have soo much food so dont really feel like i have missed out on lots, have so much fruit and veg, also brought some sweet potatoes for the first time (sad i know, i have never got them before as i never really knew what to do with them.....)
Peel and roughly chop ordinary and sweet potatoes into wedges
Par boil (roughly 7.5-10 mins), drain and allow to cool
Drizzle with oil, salt and pepper, and seasoning such as cajun or garlic as you like.
Cook at approx 220 degrees for 15-30 mins (until crisp on outside) and serve with as you would ordinary chips or wedges.
Yummy.
In mash they can be quite watery I find.Ermutigung wirkt immer besser als Verurteilung.

I love sweet potatoes roasted with veggies (toms, onion, garlic, sliced carrots, courgettes etc), having read the other posts I fancy some tonight.:p
Luckily it's too cold and dark to go shopping!
Hope everyone has a good evening.KEEP CALM AND keep taking the tablets :cool2:0 -
