Yep.. probably Victoria but doesn't really make a difference (Victoria tends to be direct and they come back to brighton later)

Hmmm. The problem with the bring-your-own-booze places is that all of the ones I can think of would necessitate us travelling in to town, then out again. And none of them lie between Victoria and Brighton. One thing I've always fancied doing is going to one of the middle Eastern places on Edgeware Rd (nearest tube Marble Arch/Bayswater, good for Peachy), which are non-alcoholic, but we could repair to a boozer, or even start in a boozer, go for a kebab, and go back to a boozer....? Then again, the house red at pizza express is tasty enough to me (not a wine snob!). Or there's the Indian place in Bloomsbury.
EDIT What I'm asking is, is it right to emphasize "cheap" when choosing somewhere, or is everyone going to sulk if we can't find a foodie paradise with views of the London Eye?

im considering gracing you with presents also as im only just outside london in essex so ill be travling in on the distric line but im so crap at directions i may get lost and be having a party on my own and be telling you all about it in the morning.

got to see if i can get the money and also who i dump the kids off to as normally i lock them in the cupboard under the stairs with a bowl of water if im only out for a few hours but going out all night i may have to rethink and maybe spoil them and leave some food aswell lol

Lisa, it would be lovely to have your presence (don't have to bring presents, though perfume is always nice and Dalip needs a bib!) and I'm sure that Archie and little Lillie will understand why mummy left them in the cupboard, one day, anyway, after lots of psychotherapy. If you can manage to find a sitter, I will make sure you get picked up from a station by one of us, but don't stress out about it if you can't, ok? There will be other times, I promise.

I have to say i am not a fussy eater but I DON'T DO PIZZA:o .

As long a i get my quota of cooking larger we can have a picnic on the river banks of the thames for all i care.
Lily we don't care where it is as long as we all meet up so stop worrying about a view of the london eye:D .

Are there any pubs that are central for us all that do food? Just a thought.

How many will be staying over and how many will be travelling there and back the same night?. As that may have some bearing.

OK. I'll investigate pubs with food, near major stations. Have also found an unlicensed Thai cafe that's fairly central. Extremely cheap, apparently, which is reflected in the decor, not that I think that matters. Picnic would be a marvellous idea were it not January!

Hi all,

Dalip contacted me about this, but I won't be able to make it as I'll still be in the West Indies - I don't get back until the following week, & I'll be broke anyway until my next payday. Lovely though you all are, I'm sure you can understand that if it's a choice between some Caribbean sun & heat & a day/night in London, the Caribbean is going to win hands down.

Anyway, I hope you all have a really good time.
