Should I call ntl customer services and ask for the 6p call plan? and this should be free?
And it sounds like I should sign up to the phoneco-op too so I am going to look into that a bit further.

As you are an existing customer you should at least try to get the 6p talk plan, by calling customer services. They have been reluctant to talk about it since it became free 9 months ago, being £2 a month before. I was suprised especially as it was at the time they last increased most of their prices prior to this Jan. I feel that this must have been to match an existing BT tariff at the time. It should take care of your off peak calls to landlines. Similar to talk unlimited but instead of calls being free( for 1hr), they cost 6p a time. If NTL refuse then go for the Co-op one
From what you have said, you seem to be spending around £6, above talk unlimited or 3.2.1, so this will be for peak daytime calls and calls to mobiles.
Analyse these from your bills and see if there is a cheaper way. eg pricefighter and Heinz have found that you can call mobiles via an 0844 number that is 1p a min
    See www.discountdial.co.uk 0844 861 64 64

With this one you just dial the number normally with a # at end of number. No need to dial in Intl Format.

This also allows access to 07744 numbers ;)

Going to call NTL tonight to try and get the 6p tariff.

I have signed up to 11899, am going to program the two most dialled landline into the phones memory with 11899 prefixs. This should be cheaper than NTL even on the 6p tariff?

going to try directdial when calling mobiles, if I read the website correctly; calls to mobiles are 1p per minute? has anyone used this?

    Thanks for your help everyone.
