tenon / haines watts did the same thing to me last year, i have about 4 months ago been discharged from bankruptcy.
i lost my house as a result i now wish i had just done the bankruptcy route in the first place.
only reason i went iva was cos i didnt want to loose the house. my wife lost her job about a year into the iva so we could no longer pay them. 4000 was paid in and as your case this went to them. i would tell anyone now to keep away from tenon/ haines watts. sorry i know that no help to you now.
good thing for me is that i am now debt free and lovng it.
it is a winding road trying to get through it all but there is light at the end of the tunnel.
keep your chin up mate0 -
If you sign up to Tenon you will have to have VERY deep pockets!!!0

problem is we didnt sign up to tenon, we signed up to haines watts, they were bought out by tenon0

We went with Debt Free Direct and they are the same. I don't think any one of them is out to actually help you. The only reason we entered the IVA was because we were scared for the kids and what would be said. We learnt a very valuable lesson and a year on are now waiting for DFD to fail the IVA. I hope they do pay for the fees it will put £1000 back in our pockets but, they will prob just sign us off. Money Talks ...but all mine ever says is Goodbye! :rolleyes:0

anyone have anymore suggestions on what we can do because my wife is due to give birth in 2 weeks (happy times) but she will be on maternity pay (about 117 a week) so not a lot of income, we spoke to cccs who were going to sort out a DMP with us which was agreed initially for us to pay about 260 a month, they had to ring us and review the payments because of my wifes income dropping whilst on maternity pay but cannot help us because we owe family money and we have to pay them more than the reviewed payment plan, so can someone please suggest what to do now because we cannot afford £1000 to go bankrupt0

Here is a forum that Im sure will be of some help .Iva.co.uk .
Will family accept less money whilst you partner is on mat leave.
you may be entitled to tax credits once your wife gives birth
you will get ctc once baby is born plus child benefit.
I know some large employers have hardship grants . The unions normally deal with this.
On the subject of unions they also arrange cheaper loans and insurance. Worth a look.
Do you have something you can sell to raise money. A really good way to get money would be to ask family friends to donate unwanted goods and then sell on ebay.
If you have debts with water gas ect most of them have hardship funds to help pay a debt off.0 -
Ho I forgot to say congratulations on your new baby. Im sure things will work out for you all.0

The CTC and child benefit will go to our baby though. We really want to pay this debt off but don't want to get ripped off in the process. I think bankruptcy maybe the only option. Anymore suggestions anyone?0
