  • I think its quite funny actually... ebay have got very very complacent in the last 12-18 months, and hopefully it will back-fire on them very soon... they forget just how quickly sentiment can change on the web

The old saying goes "if it ain't broke, don't fix it!" ... don't think they've ever heard of that though ;)
In the probably unlikely event that I actually post something of use to someone, an ickle vote of thanks would be much appreciated, in fact I might frame it and put it up on the wall next to my cycling proficiency certificate :D

What was that other thing that ebay started up for business sellers it was only going to sell brand new on a buy it now basis?

They kept inviting me to join but I never did, is it still going?
  • Oh yeah... eBay express... no idea if it's still around *goes off to have a look...*

    ETA: Nope... http://pages.ebay.co.uk/retireexpress/

Thanks, can't understand that if that failed why they want to turn the whole site into a clone of it.

    £4m of sales per annum!!!

    Now that would be nice.

On ebay alone! Can you imagine putting £4m worth of eggs into the one ebay basket only to wake up some morning banned from ebay because someone reported you used wording from their listing or some other 'crime'??

I can't imagine this new breed of corporate super sellers will get banned for anything, powersellers already get more allowed warnings than a standard seller and I assume that will carry on up the levels to make them almost untouchable.

Oh yes powersellers can get banned but they do get an extra bit of leeway, usually an extra warning ir two (depending on powerseller level).

  • I seem to remember something a good couple of years ago where a powerseller was done for selling fake / stolen antiquities, but not banned from ebay... if I remember rightly the seller was a university professor or similar 'expert' in the field... anyone else remember this?
