I'm being quite well behaved today ;)

Packed lunch duly prepared (pasta from last night and a delicious slice of pork and chicken pie (left over from a lunch meeting yesterday)
Printed out voucher for a free burger at Walkabout tomorrow (a cheap way to get a full stomach for Christmas shopping - thanks MSE!)
Got a nice bottle of wine from Threshers to share (40% off voucher from a newspaper, so less than a fiver)

I did allow myself a black Americano as a small treat (paid yesterday), but was really annoyed to find free filter coffee had been made in my office anyway  That's the first time in three weeks I'd given into my high-caffeine temptation!

We'll be switching to energy saving lightbulbs tomorrow and I've got £70 coming from Quidco in the next few days too, so all in all well behaved.
  • Hello everyone, pouring down here today!

Having a better day today than yesterday! I have done most of my housework already which for me is brilliant!!

    My list for today is:
    1. do a meal plan for next week and use that to make up a shopping list
    2. get some scones out of the freezer for oh and ds1
    3. have a friend coming round later with her dd for coffee instead of going to baby group saving £1.50 (found it too clicky anyway)
    4. check online banking to see what oh has been paid
    5. check for surveys
    6. figure out what to make for tea
    7. write in my dfw diary
    8. sort out the toys in my living room and throw out any broken ones and put away the ones ds1 has grown out of ready for ds2 when he is older
Think thats it for today but as always will get ideas from everyone elses lists!
    Have a good day/weekend everyone!

And I finally figured out how my work expense system works (I don't often have cause to use it!) That's £8 I can reclaim, or as I call it, an extra £8 towards my debts :D

Wii fit seems to be a very popular activity on the dfw board! I think I'll need to get fit the old-fashioned way once I can cancel my gym membership (running up muddy hills).

It might not be glamorous, but the £650/year I'm paying for the gym now seems really silly

    Hi All,

Sorry I didn't post last night, nightmare time at work (there was a major gas leak, and they shut off one of the main roundabouts in Newbury) because I don't really know my way round there, I was stuck at work because the buses were taking ages to get anywhere, and I could not get into town (to meet up with hubby) - and everything else seemed to go wrong at work as well.

    Right....breathe

Today I am off work on holiday so I have:
    • had breakfast at home
    • drove the car to the garage (it needed a new engine mount) and walked to town to pick it up (2 miles, I looked like a beetroot when I finally got there)
    • met my sister in law in town and bought 2 coffees and 2 sandwiches (eaten on the only bench available ~ outside the toilets )
    • resisted the urge to buy anything else in town
    • paid for a bus to the garage to pick up my car (I might have died otherwise ~ really need to go to the gym)
    • put change into my sealed pot (cant wait to open it on Sunday)
    • sat down in front of the computer, making sure that I type this up as it keeps me on the straight and narrow
    • am about to drive to work to meet up with hubby (leaving early so that I can drive efficiently ~ 17 miles each way  )
    • might stop off and buy a trashy magazine to do the comps
    • have a night in ~ pasta bake with chicken I think

Have a great evenibg everyone ~ I'm glad it is Friday, might have a crunchie to celebrate

    Take care
