lost my interest free creditcard promotion SOMEONE HELP

HI

only last month i did balance transfer, and paid a fee for it.

i thought interest free means i do not pay anything.

after my 1st month i have lost all my promo and got charged loads on top.

i never got told i had to pay minimum, if i had known then i would have paid.

is there nothing that can be done?

i am really upset.

I would not have done BT etc etc other wise,i was nit told and a genuine mistake.

seems like the attitude is your fault who cares etc

PLEASE ADVISE ME

Didn't you receive a statement listing the minimum payment? I think you got mixed-up with 0% meaning NO payments, it just means no interest will be charged (if you keep to the T&C's). You need to contact the card issuer and see if someone is more sympathetic.
I used to have a signature but it disappeared and I just couldn't be bothered writing another, so please feel free to ignore this.

If you want experienced based advice/opinion, then you'll have to divulge the card provider.
  • Looks like you've missed your first payment and so had your rates turned off. Try again to get in touch im sure they will be able to help.

Well its up to yourself to familiarise yourself with the terms & conditions of the card and precisely what a 0% interest free period means.

Like others have said, its up to the card issuer now to have a charitable side, but pleading ignorance isn't the way to go on this one.
  • If you only did the BT last month then surely you still have access to the money so use it to wack the card back down and then even if you get no sympathy from the card issuer you will only have the BT fee and a small residue to pay off ??

Well I believe the OP. This situation has come up before several times. Not everyone realises the need to make Minimum Payments. They think that 0% interest means you pay nothing until the promotional period expires.

If unsure, they are best to ask the question on here BEFORE proceeding with the particular card, so that they are clear on their obligations.
  • How can people not realize you have to make minimum payment? !!!!!!? If they are not mentally capable of understanding that then they have no business owning a credit card.

Don't be so harsh, people make mistakes we're only human you know.

OP Call them and explain the situation if that doesnt work call them again and you will get a different person. It's up to them if they restore your 0% but it has been done before. Good Luck and setup a DD for min payment.
