Thanks everyone for your replies. My Mum rang to cancel her subscription this morning and the man on the phone told her there was no need to buy another card, the one she's got will get her all the freesat channels, so she's very happy! Thanks again.0

You'll know if something's gone wrong because Channel 4 and Five will stop working. If that happens you'll need an FTA card.0

Damn!I didn't realise Sky+ functionality stopped working when you cancel Sky:( . I was going to cancel today but think I will have downgrade to their cheapest package as I dont want to lose Sky+.
Maybe i should look into a hard drive recorder for the future0 -
Why not get a freeview box or the new freesat box pvr. The new one Humax does is much better than sky+ its got the latest chipset in and you get HD it decodes mpeg4
You cant go wrong with Humax pvrs they are brilliant0 -
