  • Glad to see he has got a home - I have just spoken to my friend (the police officer who will rehome and rehouse) and she would have taken him but as he is sorted, no problems.

Cool, well another rescue has offered a place too as back up just incase, so now w have three potential places he could go to - SallyUK I will try and get the contact details for the rescue co-ordinator who will be organising help for this boy so you can keep tabs on it and check all goes to plan!

    Hi Everyone

Well, what a morning it's been!

Thanks to FC for all your hard work too, it's been greatly appreciated.

This little chap will still need a good home.

The rescue place was sorted for him, however when one of the people helping rang the kennels,, they said they didn't have any dogs taken in last night! So the question was, where was he??

I had rang the lady who dropped him off at the kennels for me however there was no reply, so I left a message on her answer machine.

In the meantime, the lady from the rescue had rang another few kennels and told me she'd found him! lol

Anyway, the lady who was meant to be taking him to kennels for me then rang in the afternoon and told me she still had him with her! She said she couldn't bear to take him there and that he was still with her! She'd spoken with the dog warden and he told her that if she did take him to the kennels, then decide to foster or adopt him, she'd have to pay all the fees etc and he recommended that he take all the details but she should keep him at hers, if possible. So she decided she would. She said he slept in a bed at the side of her bed all night, he's fully toilet trained, was happy and playing with some squeaky toys and was getting on well with her two westies - male and female.

She said the vet had agreed to check him over on Monday for free as well and that they were also going to try and get her some funding for fostering him! They also knew of an elderly lady who lost her dog a few weeks ago and they thought this little chap might be good for her, so if he wasn't claimed by the owners, they might try and see if the lady wanted him.

Fingers crossed, - I'm meeting up with Natalie who has him (she's called him Fred, in the meantime - lol) tomorrow or Sunday, so will let you know what the outcome is in a week's time.

Thanks to everyone for all your help and suggestions, they've all been greatly appreciated.

this has so made me cry today, my little fella was a rescue dog. he had been thrown from a moving car and was found wandering along a main road. He was rehomed but a family with 3 children under 5 had him and he didnt appreciate them puling his tail, so they returned him. We have had him now for over 10 years, and hes a very much loved little man. He has a jack russel head with a small dalmation body - totally unique lol

We have hada couple of hairy moments with him, he stole and ate a bar of chocolate, which poisoned hima nd we ended up with a £300 vet bill as he had to be rushed in as an emergency - silly boy.

But he has also helped my mum after major surgery get back on her feet, our ben (dog) walks with her everyday and stops to get biscuits from all the old ladys on his route.

I would love to take this dog in, but our ben doesnt like other dogs - due to how he was previously treated. I dont know anyone else who could, but i hope and pray some loveing person/persons take in FRED and give him the home he deserves.

Good Luck FRED, were all thinking of you in our house, and best wishes from my BEN too........

Aweee that's a lovely story Nuttyp.

Well, Natalies has just brought Fred over to my house for a visit and he's simply gorgeous. He has such a wonderful placid nature, although he wasn't so happy to have a humungus retriever puppy wanting to play with him! lol (my own pup).

We put Digby into the dining room for a little while, so that Fred could relax and he had some treats and he settled down and lay down at my feet for a while, then sat on my lap and had a cuddle for ages too. Natalie had posted on DogLost too and was up most of the night last night with people ringing her wondering if he could possibly have been theirs!

She's taking him to the vet on Monday night for another health check, although the only thing we can see is that he has a small cut on his left ear and of course he has dry skin which isn't a contagious condition, apparently.

He's eating well, is fully toilet trained and so quiet, she's not once heard him bark or growl or make any noise apart from snoring - LOL

He appears to have such a placid personality around adults and my daughter is 12, he loved being cuddled by her.

I'll post a pic later of him and you can all see for yourself what he's like.

Remember, if he's not claimed by his owners within 5 days, then he will still be looking for a new home.

Sally, he is lovely, but (and please dont take this the wrong way, and I think this is what you are planning anyway!) I really must advise that its better to rehome him via rescue than to do it yourself, as they will make sure he is speyed, neutered, goes to the right sort of a home for him, can drop in to check on him after of needed and will offer back-up should anything happen which would mean that his new owners could not keep him.
