they did have a few other bits but not much.

which stores have m&s bought , are they keeping them as icelands or turning them into m&s stores?

my iceland is opposite m&s so i hope my iceland won't be going. i love iceland's they so cheap.

I don't know all of them, definitely Thornton-Cleveleys and Ormskirk, don't know further afield. They are changing to M&S Simply Food stores, they will not stay as Icelands. For me working there it is great, but for me shopping there - I'll have to go a few miles down the road. There will be loads of bargains nearer the time though.

The new Simply Food stores being acquired will be in the following areas: Belfast Upper Newtownards Road, Bicester, Biggin Hill, Braintree, Caversham, Christchurch, Cirencester, Coleraine, Devizes, Durham, Edinburgh, Hazel Grove, Hertford, Honiton, Market Harborough, Morpeth, Newtownards, Northallerton, Oadby, Ormskirk, Palmers Green, South Woodford, St Neots, Sudbury, Tewkesbury, Cleveleys, Torquay and Trowbridge.

Damn that is two out of my local four going. Not sure how well the two they are going to change are going to do in this area.


Better keep my eyes out for mega bargains. Good job I am getting my chest freezer this weekend.

My friend went to Iceland in Aldridge, West Midlands and was happily telling me about all the bargains she had got including party food. She mentioned she had bought some Hagan Daz icecream for a pound. Wow I said. She phoned me today to tell me it was 6 months out of date and she wasnt so happy.

Thanks for the heads-up on that, I was going to nip in there tomorrow, and the sight of the words "Ice" and "Cream" in conjunction generally blur my vision when it comes to eat-by dates...

Incidentally, the Aldridge Morrisons (possibly company-wide, although I try to avoid the store if at all possible) have got a couple of dump-bins full of 99p DVDs in between the bread and the freezers - not any notable titles, but possibly worth a quid of anyones' hard-earned...

had loads of stuff, nothing out of date, maybe just unlucky on the ice-cream!

i was just wondering as st neots is one of the ones closing down, does anyone know when there sale will be, because i have gone in a few times in the last week or two and as far as i can see barely anything is reduced?
