nothing in batley. still managed to spend over £20! full freezer but no real bargains. oh well. most annoying thing was parking away from store near trolley park so could put kids in car b4 taking trolley back but when went to return trolley there were no metal things to put in trolley to get £1 back! had to take toddler & baby in car seat all way back to front of store. not impressed.Cleaning the house while children are growing is like shovelling snow when it's still snowing!0

i was just wondering as st neots is one of the ones closing down, does anyone know when there sale will be, because i have gone in a few times in the last week or two and as far as i can see barely anything is reduced?
please help,
thanks sarah
Their closing down sale will probably be the week before they actually close. As this is going to vary from store to store you are probably best just asking (though as this is very recent news they might not know yet). Our area manager did say though that we should expect once the sale starts, for everything to go within 3 days. So keep your eyes peeled and get in there as early as you can.Accepted offer on our house - Sept 2006

Hi
I work in Iceland and we have been told that ALL sale items are to be cleared by next Saturday ! They have reduced the prices down fyrther on lots of lines.
Blackcurrant Cheesecake was £2 now 25p
Pop Pop Chicken Selection was £4 now 25p
Aunt Bessie App + Bla Pie was £2 now 25p
plus loads more.
Each store has specific pricing depending on the volumes of stock they have in on particular lines. Depending on how bolshy you wanna be...you could ask to see their Stock Clearance Report which lists the stores items that are in the sale and also gives the quantity the store has and what price it is selling for.
HTH
Michael
BTW - After Saturday all the prices at store level are reducing to zero so will be worthless to the stores so top managemnt have stressed IT ALL MUST GO.Aoccdrnig to a rscheearch at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it deosn't mttaer in waht oredr the ltteers in a wrod are, the olny iprmoetnt tihng is taht the frist and lsat ltteer be at the rghit pclae. Each of the stores closing will be doing so between the last week in Feb and the second week in March. No idea when specific stores will be shutting, you are best going in to ask, but they might not know yet - we don't! Hopefully we'll be one of the first and get 3 weeks off paid!
The January sale at the moment, as Michael said, is in its final stages (I bought loads of beer at ours - Carlsberg and Carling 8 bottle packs for £2 each!), but there will be closing down sales at the stores which are going over to M&S. When this will be will depend on the closing date. If you are close to one of the ones closing it'll probably be worth bobbing in in the next couple of weeks to see if there's any sign of the clearout beginning.Accepted offer on our house - Sept 2006

I work for Iceland, luckily, we're not closing. We get end of the line stuff all the time. Since the original owner bought it back last year, everything has changed, he's going back to simpler grocery products instead of the expansion of products that happened over the last couple of years. According to the memo in the office, it was an offer he couldn't refuse. M&S offered £30 million for 28 stores and they got to choose the location. We also understand that he is going to build new Icelands in the areas where he sold the existing stores!!!! Can't quite understand why M&S didn't have that written into the contract, but at the end of the day, they're not in competition with each other as they are totally different food stores. That's the lowdown on the info we got anyway. Hopefully he will build more stores, I enjoy shopping in Cleveleys, it's a great shopping area and the store there will be missed.0
