.... My case bears all the hallmarks of business travel with the guts of 200,000 air miles under its belt, so if I were a thief, would I be interested in a business travellers case belonging to someone who most likely has the sense not to put valuables in their case, or a nice shiny spanking new case with name and address tags on it that smacks of holidaymaker and potential?
As for a high security design, that's not the idea, I like the design simply because having had my share of damaged cases, the lockable clasps help keep the case in one piece as it helps prevent the clasps flying open when the case twists as it's bounced, hurled or thrown overarm. The MSE Dictionary

I've heard of airports that have xrays at the check-in counters, but then that would just increase queues, I guess
Dalaman airport in Turkey has x-ray machines at the main entrance doors to the airport. On entry to the terminal building, all your cases and hand luggage is x-rayed and all the people have to walk through the metal detector.
You check in as normal and go through to departures. When you enter your gate waiting area, your hand baggage is x-rayed again and you go through another metal detector.
It didn't really increase queues at all and everything flowed ok.Here I go again on my own....0 -

This, that you and several otehrs before have said, is just silly, when you consider the number of people that a checked-in suitcase goes through before it gets to me at the end airport.
It's like saying that locking your house is silly because it will mean there are things to steal there, or locking your car when you don't have bags in it, and so on.
You may want lots of people going through your clothes and books, but I'll refrain from that, thanks... :rolleyes:Being brave is going after your dreams head on0 -

It is nothing like your example of locking a house - everyone locks their house.
If you cant find the distinction then please say and ill not waste my time trying to convince you that when about 90% dont lock their cases those that do draw a natural suspicion (potentially)0 -
