I've had this (although not pregnant at the time) and it's a really peculiar feeling. Agree with previous posters, don't take any risks with self-medication during pregnancy. Ask your GP whether travel sickness pills might help and if they agree then go ahead. I know it's uncomfortable but it'll pass. Good luck.0

I had a doctor who told me that it would only last a week or 2, it lasted about 4 months I was prescribed stemetil but I would not take anything if I was pregnant.0

Thanks, just what I was wanting. Thanks for the replies and the messages especially 1sue23 who's daughter is in the same boat.
PS. I have not disappeared but don't sit on the pc 24/7. While my wife is off work ill, I get up at 3.15am and take the dog for a walk then go to work and then rush home about 10am to look after her and her needs while she lays in bed.**BERTIE**Did you Know: It costs more than £325,000 a day to run the lifeboat service? Hi,
Just wanted to say that I suffered with these symptoms from about 6 months in to my 4th pregnancy. It was a horrible debilitating time.:( Had tons of tests, thought it might be labyrnthitis, sinusitus, stress, to name but a few but couldn't establish what the condition was.
In the end I had an MRI scan when my daughter was about a month old (so had the symptoms for abt 4 months). The scan showed nothing, which was a huge relief, and although I occasionally suffer from dizziness I have never had it back as badly.
My friend who is a GP had a theory at the time that it was related to my pregnancy but who knows?
Not telling this to frighten the op as i'm sure his wife will be fine in a week or two but as someone mentioned they have been suffering from similar symptoms during pregnancy I thought it might reassure that it might be something that affects pregnant women?! I know that I was very worried when pregnant that it might be something more serious.
Hope the OPs wife is feeling better soon xx0 -

Viral labyrinthitis is so common amongst the general population it would be surprising if some pregnant women didn't get it. It's a nasty little bug nevertheless..................
....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)0 -
Christ, bet you never thought a simple question would create such a reaction, eh?
It's nasty, it's horrible ( I know as a previous sufferer, that's for sure ) and I wasn't offered anything other than travel sickness pills to counteract the imbalance. Wasn't pregnant at the time and they didn't really help tbh. One of my non pregnant friends had it last year and she was off work for 2 months, on no medication, told she just had to grin and bear it until it worked itself out of her system. The doctor hadn't anything to give her that would make any significant improvement.
Hope everything goes well with your little 'un. It's a worrying time with your first baby, I remember it well! . And to be quite honest, I wouldn't have said that this forum was the best place to ask such a question but as long as you've got something of value out of the replies, that's the main thing. Hope you've been able to put your mind(s) at rest.0 -

Sorry you misunderstood me . I didnt actually have labyrinthitis, it was something else which was never diagnosed properly but labyrinthitis was one of the conditions that its symptoms were similar to.0
