Can't connect 2nd laptop wirelessly

    all i can say is then: two identical laptops; two identical wireless cards (built-in u say); router is working (because other pcs do connect) - problem is with this laptop. nevertheless, i would (if poss) try using an external cheapo usb wireless dongle for this prob laptop and see what happens.....and if both laptops are new(ish), sounds like they are, dell should replace - no quibbles. :)

    have tried the dongle route also!

  • If it works via the cable, then either wireless is not switched on or the adapter is disabled.

    Try looking in the Hardware Profiles and see what that says
    It's taken me years of experience to get this cynical

    I don't see what the prob is: phone up dell if it's a new(ish) laptop; ok, they might suggest a few things over the phone to trouble-shoot, but given u have two identical dell laptops - they will ship out a new laptop. Can't see the problem here:)
