Can't connect 2nd laptop wirelessly

Hi

I've got a desktop computer wired, one laptop wireless and have another laptop I can't seem to get connect wirelessly.

I'm with TalkTalk and depending on who I speak to I get a different response. The laptop has got a wireless card fitted and working

any suggestions?

Can you see your wireless network when you scan for available networks?

  • Can the second laptop see the network if the first one isn't switched on?

put the wireless out of the equation just for now: with an ethernet cable plugged in, will this suspect laptop connect to your network, and browse the internet etc.

what is the essential difference (speaking about wireless) between the two laptops? is the working laptop using in-built wireless or via a card/usb etc.
