So once again people on incapacity benefit miss out, I am on this benefit and DLA, high for mobility, low for care and Industrial injuries benefit, can I get any help? can I hell. Perhaps if the government hadnt had a hand in advising those on unemployment benefit to claim incapacity so the unemployment figures looked good then perhaps legitimate claimants would get more rights. Sorry for the moan and feel free to move this comment wherever.

Would like to hear from those who already had help under this scheme. I think i have a couple of years before my area is switched over.

Just bought a LCD tv with a built in freeview. Was unhappy to find i cannot receive ITV and C4. It has something to do with the freeview people changing channel signals/strength and maybe my aerial is not compatible. Yet using my old freeview box, which i have not retuned, i can still receive ITV and C4.

I don't think anyone has had help from the scheme yet as I don't think the first switch over is untill late next year, I could be wrong and someone please post to correct me if so.

You don't have to miss out Dexyblue, as you are in receipt of DLA you can get the help at the reduced rate of £40 but not for free, and as the price of a new aerial and fitting is about £60-£70 and another £20-£30 for a Freeview Box that's still a good discount.

Give them a ring and see what you can get.

We have switched over to digital here but I havent heard of this scheme.
  • Just thought i would bump this up. My daughter is on DLA and has just recieved help through this scheme. A lot of work was involved in moving the aerial and the set up with the box was very quick after that. I think it is pretty good value for the £40 and would recommend it.
We live in the Granada region, so are going digital in November.

Worth a quick call to see if you qualify for the help and find out when your regions convert over.

We are on pension credit, what does this scheme help with ? Would they give you a new aerial for Freeview ?
  • Not sure about that one marthadartha- it does say to help older and disabled people on the leaflet, so you may well get help for free.
The man who installed ours did say he would have replaced the aerial if we needed it, but it only needed re siting as the signal was strong.

The number is free to ring and find out

    0800 40 85 906.

    Hope that helps

Hiya, I eventually got the papers through for help through the scheme, how long is it before they come to do the work as I have not heard anything back from them yet. I too am in the Granada region
