change user name

Is there anyway of changing your user id but keeping all your posts and not starting again.? :think:

I did it once but you have to ask the webmaster You have a link at the top of the forum home page for him.

I sent an email so I will see what happens.

I set up my name ages ago before I even used the forum. I want a better one.



I go on www.imdb.com and you can just change your user id as often as you want and then it just changes it automatically on all your posts. I think they should do that on here!

Wendy if you're lucky please let me know. I have been asking for ages and keep being told that it is not possible unless your user name is either your name or email addy. I have 2 user names on here and 1 is name and other email addy!!!
My problem is that I have got everyone in work and my family reading the site and I feel totally exposed. It is really stopping me from posting! :mad:

An e-mail address will be changed but a Username wont be as I understand it

I would Try webmaster again or escalate to abuse.....

You cant change your username on this site as it would become very hard
to regulate who posted what and when and a nastie post would become hard to track
and IMDB dont have that many subscribers so its easy to do, and its a message
board and not a Forum.

IMDb have thousands of subscribers. It is a much bigger site than this for the chatting side.



There are chat forums for each film and just general chat board just like there are different forums on here. It is similar with private messaging etc. You can be tracked for abuse because even if you change your user id, you keep the same account and all your posts change the id. I hope that makes sense! You only have one user id per email address.

It should be simple to let people change their user id.

I think you should be allowed to change it especially if you have lots of posts and want to keep them.

They arent real Forums in the sense they are message boards.
