Probably the same reason that geezer who got so badly jerked around by Abbey waited for his debit card for all that time and took the !!!!!! they dealt out. It's a weird, self-destructive compulsion.... but even I have now reached the end of my tether with Barclays...

teeheehee, firstly I'm a girl

And secondly, I had no choice BUT to stick around and wait for the card, as being overdrawn, I owed them money and couldn't close the account. It was truly, truly awful, and it's still going on now.

Sorry to hear about all your problems with Barclays, why can't the banks just never get it right eh?
