Which CRA do Barclays use when opening a current account? Doesn't appear to say in UNDERGROUND'S thread about CRAs.

Yup they ID with Experian and check Equifax.
If its not showing up on your files Moneysavingallday then you must be that credit worthy that they said yes and didn't even check you.

You are funny. How could they even know if I was creditworthy without checking me? It is not possible.
All they've done so far is an ID check with Equifax. Nothing more.
But i don't think ID checks actually show anything anyhow, other than your name.0 -
When I applied for a Barclays account they gleaned info from my Equifax file and asked me to answer questions on it online.0

Barclays use both agencies but will register a search under Equifax first-however they regularly report back to Experian also so you have to maintain the account well-why do you ask?Loan-£3600 only 24 months of payments to go!!!
All debt consolodated and cards destroyed!!

I find it hard to believe they have actually opened the account then if it's not showing on your Equifax file then. Very strange. So did the Barclays staff actually say that the account was opened. I'd stear clear if they treated me like that. I guess you should shop around for a different account then?

No, it IS showing on my Equifax file but there is nothing on my Experian file. I was under the impression Barclays search Equifax first and then search Experian before they can approve the account. For me they've only searched Equifax.
I was told the account is "approved" when I phoned up. I was also told the account is "approved" when I went into the branch.0 -
