I think I know exactly who you are, haha. I remember you quite well for all the work yer did. Small world eh?
On the topic of bad customer experiences. I've dealt with the long-term unemployed (as in 2 years+) and had several rough encounters due to taking action on those that don't even try to pretend they don't want to look for work.
I'm not sure why I applied again but it's probably because the people I happened to worked with were awesome and helped me get through the day (something I missed before I started there). I don't hold much hope with my application as this time around due as I probably don't want it as much as I did back in 2009 and but I tried my best anyway.
As for the "nasty piece of work" comment, I know exactly what they meant by that. Some staff like to cherry-pick people who don't know how to challenge JCP staff if they're unfairly treated and when they do, they usually pass the buck to others. Nothing new and not exclusive to the Jobcentre employees IMO.
Oh dear, I'm sorry to hear this. What did your 'rough encounters' involve? I don't fancy being threatened by some tough guy or someone waiting for me when I leave the office, but I do believe sanctioning is important if it's warranted...0 -
Just completed the online test. Found it a bit hard as I've never done anything like that before but I am most concerned about the parts where you have to rank the different options as I don't think I've done very well and have no idea what they were looking for there. However, my main concern is that I've applied for 2 districts and the test has only registered on one of my applications. I clicked into the other application to see if the test had registered for that one too but it took me into the test again, as if I have to complete it all over again! Now when I go to my details, it says 'test in progress'. Do I have to complete the test a second time? I am currently phoning the helpline but it keeps cutting me off. Arg!0

Did you get any joy from the helpline? I also applied for 2 districts but the completion of the test only shows up under one. Not sure I want to do that again as it was exhausting - took approx 72 min. My 'checking' was just to ensure I had actually answered them all - no time to go over them again!!0 -

Unfortunately not; the helpline kept ringing out or cutting off so I wasn't able to get through to them. I'm not sure what will come of it now. I also had only a few mins to spare at the end so just quickly checked I hadn't missed any. Did you get your scores?0 -
Hi everyone
I have also applied for the EO post. I have mix of HR/Recruitment background.
I am also a bit concerned about the violent/aggressive nature of the role, but have a perhaps misguided idea that I can help others find employment (those that want it)
Also, I'm hoping that I can they can offer part time hours!
Has anyone else received their score from the online testing?

Emma, as creditcardhelp11 points out in the post further up the page (and in several other places) the score is available by clicking on the Feedback option after you've logged in.0

Probable that they may be flexible with hours, depending on the staffing needs of the offices in question.
Quite a few people I knew worked part time or compressed hours (36hrs over 4 days, including myself)
If you do get in LMRA is a team which JCP's deals with local employers and trying to identify good candidates from the caseloads. I enjoyed my time there, working with national employers who were expanding operations.0 -

You do have to complete the test twice if you are applying for two areas, unfortunately[/QUOTE
That depends. If you apply for one area and sit the test then apply for another you don't have to repeat it. However if you submit both (or more) applications at the same time, it seems you have to do the teast twice.0
