OK David, so if I download it, do I have to unistall OE?
    No.
    What about my contact list?
You will be given the opportunity to import it during install.
And I take it spell check works in Thunderbird, without any add in?
I use the British English add-on. Go to Tools/add-ons.
    Move along, nothing to see.

I've looked at the guide, but up til now, I've not done anything.

In simple terms (for me) I'm trying to undertsand the advantages of thunderbird (sorry if I sound thick) but blinking computers test my patience

    According to the following:
When you first install Mozilla Thunderbird a wizard will help you through the setup process. If you have previously installed an email client, e.g. Netscape Mail or MS Outlook, setup can import your preferences, account settings, addressbook, etc.

    So that sounds promosing...

I'm in the process of setting up thunderbird however, it's asking me for my password, no doubt this will be the password I used to set up OE, which I can't remember, is there anyway round it?
