Or buy it from Woolworths who give all of the profits of the £3.99 CD to the people who need it!!  :-/ >:(

It appears from this report that Apple are donating all proceeds whilst HMV, Virgin and Woolworths are only donating profit - which is how much??? more? less? £3.99???

Wasn't the original single produced and distributed without incurring any costs and every penny of the purchase price going to the charity - is that the case for this one?

"But the single is now on sale for 79p - the usual cost of a song from iTunes - with Apple donating a further 70p to the charity for each song downloaded.

A copy of the original 1984 song is also available for download at 79p - with all proceeds going to the charity."

"The CD is being sold for £3.99, with HMV, Virgin and Woolworths all donating their profits. "
  • After this 3rd releases of the same song isn't it time for a new one?
Maybe they should re-release the two previous Band Aid records at the same time and see which sells the most.

Of the latest money raised, a Band Aid statement said: "These funds are distributed to various organisations that implement sustainable projects aimed at relieving poverty and hunger in Ethiopia and the surrounding area via a funding process.

"This involves inviting organisations to submit proposals to the trustees for consideration - those projects that meet the Trust's objectives and the approval of the trustees are funded.

"The progress of each project is monitored by the trustees through the receipt of regular reports from each of the charity organisations funded."

so has now turned into a someone saying yes or no too them who ask for it

I was under the impression that band aid this year was for sudan - in particular the refugees at Dafur.
