Love it or hate it, buy it or down load it, whatever you choose, it's served a purpose. We're all here talking about 3rd world famine & whether it's better to donate via the single or via a specific charity. Donations & aid relief will be higher this Christmas just because Geldof & Co have raised the profile of the starving again, and well done to them for that.
Now, if only next year they'd release a single of apologies from usually talanted artists for making such utter !!!!!! this year!

The real worry is that it will keep the kid who was slagged off by Simon Cowell off the number one slot. He offered to pay him £50K if he managed it, in one of him acidic putdowns.

Smart move Cowell, putting him up against a charity record.

nb I think people should give to charity if they so wish and as much as they so wish. It's optional, that's why it isn't a tax. I think the government do assist countries anyway in many ways, so we all pay indirectly anyway. Many charity organisations are run as businesses, so don't assume all the money you give directly, all goes to good causes. The swarms of students who want you to sign a direct debit on the highstreet get about £30 per person (I believe but don't quote me on that). I don't call that charity myself.

CDs are notoriously hard to recycle because you need to separate the polycarbonate plastic from the aluminium foil inside. They can't be incinerated either. Don't fill up our landfills. Donate directly to charity.

yep,apart from bono who i think u might find on the original and macartney but that was 35 years ago.
