Evening Standard: House prices down £100,000

The Standard is hardly the HPC crowd. For years all they've been writing about is how fast house prices have been rising. Even in July this year they were going on about 25% rises by 2013.

Us poor northerners will try to share some of your pain.;)
Nothing like that up here must be bad down there. I think our locality is -9% YOY.
Looks the opposit to the last recession at the moment. But I suppose the service sector will be the hardest hit.
Not sure where you live but I seem to think it's in the Nottingham'ish area.
Put NG5 into propertysnake and the first page shows drops of between 35% and 26%.
You are in denial. A xDon't believe everything you think.

Sorry but the government don't tend to lay us key workers in a downturn and especially not in a 6-18 month run up to an election.:D:exclamatiScams - Shared Equity, Shared Ownership, Newbuy, Firstbuy and Help to Buy.

Following events of recent days, I do feel that the downturn is going to be extremely deep. Especially when those in charge don't seem to have two brain cells to rub together. Reckon add another 3 months to bottom of market and further drop of 5% overall to my previous predictions. ie bottoming out Autumn next year down 35% ish from peak rather the 30%. Looks like its going to be another 3 months of playing my xbox360 for me then, good job I've got some awesome games that I haven't played yet. BIOSHOCK is amazing for any 360 owners and only £10 bargainastic.
Although Half Life 2 : The Orange Box just pips it. (on the 360).0 -

Somehow together with the army we will be the very last job group to get sacked. If we go society crumbles as proven in many case studies round the world. Strangly conservatives tend to look after us better than Zanulabour.
Back to the subject. £100k falls are great news. All the smart sellers dropped their prices early and sold. Now the others are chasing the market down and there are less buyers than ever. With every house price fall story there will be less buyers than ever as everyone now knows its far better to wait for bigger falls.:exclamatiScams - Shared Equity, Shared Ownership, Newbuy, Firstbuy and Help to Buy.

I did, both of them. They're both crap, just like 99.99% of the contents of the Standard. However seeing the headline all over London will influence a lot of people.
Couldn't agree more. The article's silly, but the billboards outside every newsagent, and ES stall will have an impact....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0
