    That does not make sense.
It could be the start of the end.;)

It's a quote from Churchill. He said at the end of 1942:

Now this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning.

It was after the British won the battle of El Alamein, and he also said:

I have never promised anything but blood, sweat and tears, now however we have a new experience. We have victory. a remarkable victory. A bright gleam has caught the helmets of our soldiers and warmed and cheered all our hearts.
...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.

    1. The article does not show any percentages - what are the reductions on - £5 million homes?

    2. It doesn't give any specific examples of properties.

    2. Globetrix the company mentioned are owned by a newspaper group - maybe this is some creative journalism that has a hidden agenda... summary on the company http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Globrix

Us poor northerners will try to share some of your pain.;)

Nothing like that up here must be bad down there. I think our locality is -9% YOY.

Looks the opposit to the last recession at the moment. But I suppose the service sector will be the hardest hit.

It was all over the city today. And it seems most of the Standard readers are happy about it.

Is house price plunge a good thing?

    poll_81.gif
    Yes 81%
    No 19%

these articles amuse me and a typical example of typical HPC ghetto mentality

The Standard is hardly the HPC crowd. For years all they've been writing about is how fast house prices have been rising. Even in July this year they were going on about 25% rises by 2013.

Well if you did not mean to discredit the article you just did a fairly good job of doing so.
