  • Hi I've just read these posts thanks for the support. I phoned CCCS this week and was told that they have drawn up the proposal but now are going to 'draw' up some letters as we own our property, oh and it wont be this side of the new year before we get out 'propsal' sent out to us.
Sarah I dont mind sending your my details but given there will be the inevitable xmas break would it make any difference to their time lag ?

I wouldn’t be able to say for sure as it’s a different office. However as promised I will ask someone to call and try and speed things up for you.
I am a Debt Counsellor that works for the CCCS and have specific permission from Martin, to post on these boards to try and help those in debt. Read more information on the CCCS and what it does in the Debt Problems: What to do and where to get help article.

CCCS is a registered charity, and there is no charge whatsoever for any of the services we provide to our clients. We take great pride in offering first class help and advice, but we only offer this where we have been able to fully explore and understand your circumstances with you. We want to help you understand these choices and their possible implications but not make them for you.

    You're too kind.

    Seriously though, here's a tip.

If you made any payments prior to the IVA commencing, find out whether or not they form part of the IVAs 60 months, effectively backdating your start date. It's best not just to assume the will, and you should ask the supervisor's team and they'll tell you.

It's best to get things like this clear now, before you start, so as to avoid confusion at a later date, believe me.

Obviously this only really relevant if you have made any payments prior to meeting.

Well done anyway, and good luck.

And don't forget, you know where we are if you need help. ;)
