  • £25 to MBNA - this rounds off my standard payments to CC this month. Just the final overpayment to go on 30 September - I'm hoping for a big 'un but we will see.
    Paying down the mortgage:
    At 1 October 2011: £226,000
    Currently: £224,499
    Aim: 85% LTV (£212,500)
    Paid £1,500
    Target remaining: 88.89%
  • Couple more payments gone out for me, hoping to get down into single figures shortly which will hopefully spur me on to get rid entirely quite early in 2010.

    Hi all,

It's cold today here, I can hardly feel my feet. I refuse to put the heating on again though :)

Anyway - I've been good today. FirstDirect are currently offering a regular saver account (much like most banks it seems) which allows me to save between £25 and £300 per month for a year and get 5% interest. So, I've set mine up to save £100 a month. I'm so used to payments coming out of my account that this should help me get into the saving frame of mind without having to do anything.

According to the savings calculator that'll leave me with £1,225.84 at the end - only £25.84 in interest, but not bad!

Good luck richestorags - single figures will be ace.
mel - I've got a bottle of Vitamin Water ready to celebrate if it's a big one.

    Keep going everyone.

  • Well I sort of bottled it today and made a smaller payment, and am waiting to to see if I have enough money left to make a bigger payment at end of the month. I suppose its all still paying off debt.
Anyway payment of £240.41 to Mint today to take total owed below £1,750.
Am hoping/aiming to pay this off by the end of October so lots of work to do if i'm going to achieve this! Will update signature as well xx

  • £200 paid towards my credit cards, also started to put some money away for my pending tax bill, getting quite anxious about this. I have saved about £2000 so far.

Well done every one on your achievements and for spurring me on.

Well done all. October will be a good month for us; no planned expensive anythings and much exxtra work for DH. Hoping to clear the joint overdraft by the end of the next month.
  • Just a small £25 off the debt today to MBNA small but beautifully paid :D

I have not kept up with this thread for ages, although i have been updating my total.

I am within spitting distance of hitting my target but i still have a way to go with the general debt as a result of tax arrears that are the constant shadow following me around.

Well done everyone, the effort from this group over the year has been tremendous.

    Its kept me motivated.

    You are all fab! :T:T:T
