iphone - what do I pay for after I buy the phone?

Hi all, I am looking at buying the 16gb iphone but I am not sure about what extras I will be buying once I get the phone. I will be paying £45 per month for the first nine months and then I will lower the tariff.
My main concerns are:
1/ do I pay for any internet 3G useage or does this use my minutes.
2/ how do i download songs onto the phone as I have not had any apple ipods in the past. Also do I need to pay for these songs from the apple store.
3/ I was looking at purchasing an ipod touch but also need a phone so thought I would combine the two by buying the iphone, is this a good idea.

Thanks
Richard

  • 1) 3g usage is unlimited (subject to a fair usage policy)
    2) you will need to pay for the songs through itunes. The songs go from your pc onto your phone when it syncs with itunes.
    3) depends on what you need it to do. Some love the iphone others hate it. its all personal preference really.

    Debt-free and Proud!
Everyone i know regrets the i-phone after the honeymoon period is over they find it restrictive.......no mms & the 3G signal on o2 is the worst of all networks ( Ofcom nearly fined them for this due to the coverage obligation )
& the 3G signal in i-phone is pants ( hardware ) so between handset & o2 dont expect great 3G coverage, I'd wait for the next i-phone and get Touch & a decent mobile - wait for i-phone3 with better specs, signal & prob a better priceplan, i know I am
SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe ;)
  • as stated internet, 3G, wifi is included subject to fair usage
all things - music, apps, photos etc are sync to your iPhone via iTunes.
if you buy stuff through iTunes then you have to pay for them from an account. you can also load music from your pc or from cd to iTunes and then to your phone.

i love my iPhone, it really is the best thing i've ever had!!
as long as you know about its shortfalls (and dont moan about them!!!) then i would recommend it!
