I've been exchangin emails with eBay and finally pinned them down.

Bear in mind that I offered to list my item with no photo, no description - just a title along with a anti-piracy disclaimer and no mention of the N Word.

Thank you for writing back to us regarding relisting the item on eBay.

Duder, regarding relisting the R4 card on eBay, I would like to inform
you that eBay does not allow anyone to use the site to enable, encourage
or instruct others on how to make unauthorised copies of copyrighted
material. The R4 card enables users to make copies of copy-protected
material defeats copy-protection measures hence are not allowed on eBay.

Lastly, I would also recommend you to review our policies in detail
before listing the card on eBay. Please copy these links into new
    browser windows for more information:

So there you go - it's official - eBay are pants!

ebay can ban whatever they like, it is their site. This thread rather mirrors the 'adult items' thread, again adult items can legally be sold in the UK but ebay ban them.

It wouldnt suprise me that Nintendo are threating to sue ebay if they allow them to sell them.

Like Soolin says ebay at the end of the day can sell what they like as its there site.

Might be worth you doing a bit more research next time before you try and make a few quid. ;)
  • This might seem a little obvious but its just a thought, what about just selling the others through word of mouth - or putting up signs in your local shops, I even saw some for sale with games already on in my local free ad's paper! Also, on ebay, there are loads of DS's being sold with 40 games, and when you look at the full description of these items it says all the games are on one card (it doesn't specify the card make)- how are these sellers getting around it??
  • I have R4 cards for my children N's and they are brill.

With ref to EBay i would try to re sell them again on eBay but do not mention the N word. Anyone looking for one will know what they are and what they are for. You could always add if the following comment to your auction "if you want to know what they are for please contact me further". i have seen such comments on other auctions for similar items.

I would also do it as a buy it now and immediate payment auction as it will get pulled so this is easiets and quickest way to get sales.

    Cheers.

Well I'm not a techy but these things as I understand them, were originally designed to allow techy peeps to design their own N Word games - homebrew is the phrase they use.

However the flip side is that these cards can be used to store back ups of N Word games - you can store around 15 whole games on 1 card - ideal for my kids when on holiday.

If someone wishes they can place back ups of games they do not own.

If you go on amazon and search for R4DS there are quite a few for sale.

Like I said I don't want to get into a 'are these good or bad' - there is a market and I want to sell what I have left!

you can store more than 15, ive got about 20 on mine

You using a 4GB or an 8GB? Does it run ok? I only use a 2GB because when I first got my R4 card I did some research on the best size to get and all the advice at the time was that 2GB was the most stable.

I have recently been looking to get another card but don't want to spend money on a 4GB if it won't work aswell as a 2GB.

    Thanks.
