Its sluggish because you dont have enough ram

Id suggest at LEAST 1 gig

    Goto crucial ~

scan your system to find what RAM you need

Not really, though im suprised it runs at all whilst using Mcafee

XP needs 1 gig to run smoothly
Vista needs 1.5 to run smoothly

    512mb is correct (0.5 gig)
If mcafees on a trial youll need to sort another anti virus when it runs out anyways so yes, id say so
But i still HIGHLY recommend 1 gig ram

    For anti virus software ~
    AVAST or AVIRA

    And you need a firewall
    PCTOOLS or COMODO or ZONEALARM

    Its unbelievably easy

Do you have a desktop pc or a laptop?

Windows XPs firewall is awful in that it lets programs call outwards (Meaning if spyware DID infect your computer, nothing would stop it sending information out from your computer)

RAM is very easy to install. You just open it up, slot it in, and close it again.
