info on gov grants to install heating with warmfront

a neighbour of mine [oap] was advised in may this year that there is a government grant availible to oap and l think people on benifits , to help with having a heating installed in her home she has been in touch with WARMFRONT who is dealing with this scheme and they have sent out cos one of the contractors involved with this to do a survey and she was adv that the grant will be £2700 and eventually after weeks of being fobbed off saying the letter with the excess details had been sent she will have to pay £1700 excess

she does not have anything near this amount of excess so will probally not have much in the way of heating this winter

l also understand that warmfront are only allowed to use certain contractors

and it seems that the excesses on most of the jobs are quite high

ive recently had a new heating system in my park home and it was not this expensive and done by very experienced and reputable engineer who in the last year has done over 40 boiler replacements/new systems on our park and the aftercare is brilliant

the home in question is a park /mobile home with lpg gas which she was also told makes it more expensive WHY ??

there was something on the one show last week about complaints of the above and asking people to email with the probs ect

can anyone give any info on this ?? or correct me if some of this wrong

thanks
