All went pretty well yesterday in the interviews. Glad I spent some time doing some prep as the answers soon started flowing. The second interview was nearly exactly the same questions as the first so by this time the nerves had all gone and it was like I had already had rehearsal a few hours previously. Really glad it is all over though and wouldn't like to do two on the same day again. Just have to wait a week now to find the results, also found out yesterday that 50 people have applied for one of the roles, not too sure how many got an interview though.
It's the office Christmas party on Saturday so I am really going to let my hair down (If I had any, last time I went to the hairdressers I got a short-back and sympathy), although technically it's nothing to do with work (can't be seen to be having any fun in the public's eye) and is booked under an individuals name. It's always a great time to socialise with some of your colleagues that you don't always get a great deal of time to talk to and there always some interesting stories to be swapped.

Thanks for your kind words of support. I am attending a charity quiz night on Monday organised by work. It starts at 6pm but I don't finish till 8pm so I offered to come in early but my boss just said "don't worry about it, you do more than enough, just finish with us all". Sometimes it's nice that effort can be thanked in different ways. (although I am on her team so she has an interest in getting me there on time). Looks like next week will be last week and I will start the new role on Monday 19th, just awaiting to find out what and when I'll be working as it is a 7 day 8am to 9pm operation. Hoping first day will be a reasonable finish as I am organising a pub and curry night as a goodbye.

Well its New Years Eve and I am looking back over the year, a kind of a "state of the nation". I paid off another £1440 of debt, increased my pension contributions, got a new tv (last week, after using a neighbours since January), got a new job and had my first foreign holiday since 2008.
Got some items on the wish list for 2012-
Double glazing (if the government green grant scheme is launched)
    Carpets
Will try to get another week or two in the sun.
and maybe the possibility of a new (to me) car.
Have to wait and see what happens next. Happy New Year everyone!
