Anyone used Conveyancing Direct in Scotland?

This company did a direct mailshot to my work offering conveyancing - £320 plus VAT and outlays for purchase and the same for sales
- compared to £675 plus VAT and outlays for sale and £775 plus VAT and outlays for purchase - quoted by my solicitor!

Is this too good to be true and what could go wrong?

Did you go with them? I'm looking at them too. They seem to only focus on domestic conveyancing so I guess thats why the fees are low.

    Thanks

There are also Conveyancing Direct Limited, CD Wales Limited & CD Yorkshire Limited,

Dunno if they are any good. I do know that the law in general is having a tough time (all together now,.,.. Ahhhhhh!.Bless, poor things....) and in particular in Scotland where many Solicitors are also Estate Agents...

I'm sure if they are any good they will be glad to give you 3 random recent clients to call...

    Cheers!

I've heard of a few people who've used Conveyancing Direct and been more than happy with them. There are also plenty of non 'west end' solicitors who are not much more expensive, but will offer genuine advice and perspective. Depends what you're after.

Has anyone used them lately, please?

Thinking about using them for selling as they are still a lot lower than any solicitor practice locally to me (£665 all in versus £700+vat+disbursements).

I gather they're a conveyancing operation - so if you're selling, you need to consider who's going to do your marketing for you....
  • Have used them. They are a firm of Solicitors based in Glasgow. Prices are good, though the bill came out higher than original quote, but was a 'non standard' case...don't all solicitors end up higher though! They are still cheaper than many (though not all) solicitors local to me.

Communication is good and they always return your calls and e-mails within a couple of hours.
