As a pre-payment user my experience with EBICO is mixed due to lack of communication between EBICO and SE.The pre-payment meter will still deduct the standing charge and later on EBICO told me that they will issue the cheque to me .As a student i occasionally change the place after 6 months so i rang them to enquire about the standing charge.Well this cheque is not automatic and was told to send the bills/pre-paid invoice. But for 5 months i didn't recvd any invoice from the SE.So phoned the CS SE and they told me that they usually send the invoice once in a year but on request he virtually agreed to issue the invoice for Electric but for gas he said not possible.Anyway when i left the property and new tenant requested the name change they automatically sent the cheque about 65GBP to old address.Anyway i got my cheque from kind new tenant but they need to improve this cash back system.I strongly recommend them for pre-payment users and as well as low users .They use flat rate unlike BG,PG,SE,SH companies which uses two to three tier confusing rate system .0

Have got an email from Equigas explaining how the billing and discounts works.
First, they should have sent me a direct debit mandate so one is now in the post.
Then Equigas have to work out how much discount you are going to get from their agent (in my case Southern Electric), then load the billed unit price so you end up paying the Equigas rate net of discount.
For example. Equigas gas price 1.94 per unit. Pay by direct debit. Southern Electric give 6% discount to DD accounts so Equigas bill 2.06 per unit which ends up as 1.94 after discount.
They also said I should be able to access my Equigas account via the Southern Electric website but it still doesn't work for me. To be continued...0 -
I have found the (SSE) Scottish Hydro website excellent for managing my account.. Did take a few phone calls to get set up but got there eventually0

The Ebico phone line closes at 2pm so ring in the morning. They seem to take a few days to respond to emails. Check out https://www.ebico.co.uk for contact details. Ebico will have passed your switch to their local agent (for your area) who should contact you direct. I didn't hear anything about my transfer date for a few weeks then got a card from Southern Electric (the Ebico agent for my area) a week before the switch.0

Have got my Equigas account working online via the Southern Electric website (they gave me the wrong account number originally). Spoke to a Southern Electric helpdesk person who knew all about Equigas billing. Apparently, they bill the standard Equigas price but, if you pay by credit card, Southern Electric add on a 1.5% credit card handling fee (not Equigas) so although everyone pays the same with Equigas, their agents can add handling fees for certain payment methods. Have chosen to pay quartely when the bill arrives because for monthly DD, Southern Electric estimated £25 a month for an annual spend of £100.0

I am in the process of switching to equipower for my leccy supply but I'm a bit (ok so more than a bit!!) confused how the system works....I'm on a pre-payment meter and currently pay a standing charge, the requesting invoices them sending cheques thing sounds a bit hit and miss, is this really how they do it??Debt free = December 2010...as of March 2006 it is now January 2010..... as of December 2008 it is now December 2009 :j hopefully sooner!!:jDEBT FREE:j January 2012, took longer but I got there, all by myself, through sheer hard work and pride!0

That I don't know - I am on a credit meter. Best thing to do is ask EBICO, or their agent in your area.0
