Over 1k, but we don't own a car (yet) so no doubt when that comes along, it will take a dramatic drop.
  • We have £536 pounds left after essential bills left in the month.

This has to pay for food, petrol and anything else.
  • (dh changed job 4 years ago, and he has been retraining, I am sahm. thankfully we had savings to see us through)

at the moment ..seriously ... nothing !!!! dh's monthy salary matches our direct debits, so for food, diesel & petrol, or anything else ... we have 0 !!!

However ....... dh has an annual bonus in his December paypacket that we put into a seperate savings account, we thought last year £1,000 would be enough, so that is what we moved over every month, we had anticipated that his bonus would see us through 12 months .... WRONG !!! both our cars had major work on them this year, and as he works such long hours, we took a deserved summer holiday. his annual bous it seems wasnt qute enough ! oops !!

our savings pot is now 0. so we are subbing from our big saving pot. which is why i am here as we never thought the big saving pot would go under £20k and it just has. we are not in debt and want to remain so.

at the moment we save nothing !!

dh gets a payrise in Jan, which we anticpate to bring in an extra £300 a month, and his boss has finally agreed to cover his mobile phone bill (at a minimum) another £100 month, but his december bonus figure still hasnt been confirmed, it should be more than last year, but in current climates who knows ? ?
  • After all bills, we have £693 a month for food, petrol, everything, for 2 adults, a 3 year old and an 8 month old.

I'm a SAHM and DH is due a payrise in January, so will hopefully get a little , more. He'll also get a small bonus in January, so I'll put that away for emergencies - I try and keep £500 float for anything that crops up and to put a tenner a week away for Christmas & birthdays.

I have a spreadsheet that runs all the way through to December 2009 and shows everything coming in and out and I've weaved in car tax and MOT's so I know their coming up and budgetted for.

After all bills and payments, and thanks to OH's recent wage rise, we have around £1100 per month for 5 of us for food, fuel and extras. I put away a couple of hundred into the savings every month though.
