o2 broadband with Post office or other line rental?

I've trying to get o2 broadband. I've been told on another part of the forum that I can use the post office for my line rental and get my o2 broadband. This would be good as I'm reluctant to be tied into a 12 month contract with BT.
Has anyone else used the post office and o2? Or have any other line rental company that don't tie you in with BT's 12 month contract.

What about the O2 minimum contract term?7.2. The minimum term of your contract is twelve (12) months from the Services Connection Date (the “Minimum Term”). After this Minimum Term you will continue to receive the Services until either you or we end your contract in accordance with this clause.
You can get free BT line installation subject to certain terms. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -

I just signed up with this combination; got Post office phone and paid £110 for installation but no contract. Signed up for O2 16MB connection for £10.0 -
Yes, my line rental (rolling one month contract) is with Madasafish and my LLU broadband is with UKOnline....Or have any other line rental company that don't tie you in with BT's 12 month contract.
No issues with Madasafish. In fact I have had line faults on two occasions since switching to Madasafish and on both occasions they handled the fault resolution (which was calling out a BT Openreach engineer to replace a section of cable outside the house) efficiently.
I think people sometimes get confused and think a "BT line" means they have to use BT retail to supply it... Suppliers like The Post Office & Madasafish supply a "BT line" to you by using the Wholesale Line Rental (WLR) product from BT wholesale.0 -

You were misinformed bigtime.
The Post Office do line rental (Google for Post Office HomePhone).
It costs £10.95/month (no matter what method you use to pay), and apart from rental, it includes unlimited calls (usual 01,02,03 numbers) every weekday evening and all weekends. Also at weekends you get unlimited free calls to mobiles in uk/usa/Canada, plus free landline calls to their top 20 international destinations.
And you can use any broadband (including o2) which requires a "bt" type line.0
