I'm a mug! Will be going back tomorrow to return this junk - it'll be interesting to see whether they're a) still there; and b) selling the DWP one for £40 as the guy claimed they would be. I seriously doubt b)!
Paid by card too, so for a precautionary measure I'll be cancelling that one.
Edit: Just to mention, it was on Oxford Street just outside Tottenham Court Road tube station. The same old people with mic's claiming it was an opening night deal and from tomorrow everything will be full price. One night only all this is free for everyone, blah blah blah, now £20 for this, rest is free. I naively thought at least the DWP one would be good, but I now doubt very much it is!0 -
These guys are always on Oxford Street, I walk past them every week and they're always there selling fake perfumes under the guise of a promotion or some other rubbish excuse. They cater to tourists who wouldn't know that their 'one night only' promotion is actually a complete lie and 24 hours later they'll be there selling the same rubbish.
They're also selling cameras now, be vary wary, they will be fakes. One bloke brought his camera in to be repaired, the 'camera' looked fine, but was no more than a camera phone circuit, lens etc but with a huge chunk of lead inside it to make it feel heavy. I don't know where that customer got him camera from, but I wouldn't put it past these guys selling similar junk.

hi i was given some of the devil wears perfume for my birthday and it smells really nice. the person who bought it for me lives in johnstone Renfrewshire so it was probably bought in either Paisley or Glasgow. I noticed that most of the other posts are in England but just thought i should let you know that these people are also active in Scotland0

Sounds like the people who stand in WHSmiths selling make up from the 'make up artist from SATC'. £250 of make up for £30?? Hmmmm0

Somebody stopped me on the street near work (I don't work in a retail area) telling me that they could sell me designer make-up from Sainsbury's (?). Didn't know they did it in Smiths as well...0

This is an old thread, but, you wouldn't believe this scam is still taking place. Was in London for the weekend and passed by this shop where the guys are advertising the launch of the shop and giving away of all these "branded" perfume. This time they actually mentioned that it was Beckham, Lacoste, etc. Obviously, not knowing that this was a big, fat lie, we bought one men bag and one women for a total of 40 quid and were so happy that we got such a nice deal. Going on the train, checked the perfume and it said devil wears perfume, insead of prada. Naturally, I typed the brand and came accross this thread. We took the bags immediately the next day and planned that if they don't take them, we would tell everybody in the crowd what the real deal was. It seems that some of the people of they crowd are paid to make a crowd in order to draw others. Anyway, the guy took us inside and without arguing gave us the money back. Wanted to thank you all for the story. I would have opened the boxes if not for this thread and would have lost 40 quid.0

If u want bargain perfumes go to perfume-parlour.co.uk, perfume oils that last ages and only £2.25 a bottle. Check it out.
A friend of mine uses this site hsperfume.co.uk, also good for designer type fragrances at bargain prices. Both are good copies, pretty close to identical in some cases.0 -
Why not spend £20 on a small bottle of guaranteed genuine perfume? The ingredients of properly produced scents are bad enough, why take the chance with a dodgy copy?I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0

Of course I would rather go for a genuine pefrume, but these guys were such good liars I though I AM buying the real thing.0
