this happened to me, i took my id in to branch and that was my account opened i got the classic account silver(free for the first year) visa debit and cheque book, had my card and cheque book in a few days0 -
Very good. When I applied for my Lloyds acc I did it online, it didn't tell me either way at the end of the applic. Maybe a week later I recceived the welcome pack in the post asking me to take ID into the branch0

Well done!!!
Oh yes you will be able to upgrade in 6 months or so don't go over drawn never have a unpaid DD and try to use your card for every transaction. Just ring them in a few months to see if it's sooner.
You get a visa debit card with that account as well not a electron.0 -

I've seen this quoted in quite a few different posts, does anybody know why making a debit card payment seems to be better than going to the cash machine?0 -
well i believe it has something to do with the bank being able to see where you spend your money and if your bank also handles transactions for said retailer it would get a merchant fee as well.0

Why does your bank need to see where you spend your money? Yikes!0
