Ok I just did an online quote to see how much it'd cost someone I know to insure their dog that's currently with E&L, the top cover is now £4,000. I'm sure it used to be unlimited? I tried with my cat too & she can only get £3,000! Then I put in a 2001 dob for her & still £4,000 tops. Has it changed? I'm sure it was unlimited!

You need the best plan they do to get a for life policy. My cat costs me £14 a month for their supercat.0

Yeah i'm sure the cover used to say £unlimited now it's £4,000 for their top policy, or that's what it shows online! £3k less than alot of other companies that aren't so good!0

I just had a look, yeah your right, it used to be £7000 per year :eek:0

I've got top dog with PP for Perry, costs me £30.00 a month and i definitely got unlimited did it all back in June/July.
Expensive yes hope i never need to use them, but hopefully Perry is covered for the whatever's in this worldLife is about give and take, if you can't give why should you take?0 -
my policy for my almost 12.5yo cat (taken out in 1996) is £6k a year, renewable, for life - £19 a month.
i tried to insure my new cat - a 14yo siamese - with Pet Plan but they would only offer me their very basic cover, which was £3k, not renewable - not at all good for an old cat! that's why i went to Axa, who offer £7k a year, renewable, for life - monthly premium £28. i was going to use Animal friends but their excess is 35% for an old cat :eek:0 -
i have got the lowest level of halifax cover - £1000 but it only costs me just under £7 a month. I figure if Badger ever needs any treatment more expensive than that then I will raid the ISA, but £1000 should cover most eventualities.
Halifax also do a higher lever but I dont know if thats 4K or 7K?0 -
FC - my vet could go through a £1000 just like *that*

when my 'S' was sick and we were trying to determine what the problem was, it cost almost £3000 just to find out what was wrong (that included 8 days hospitalisation on fluids etc, a biopsy and an operation amongst other bits and bobs)0
