Like other have said, it really depend on whether you think you 'need it' or whether you just want it. Is Missus likely to trot upstairs for a feed every two hours? During the night is Missis likely to have baby in bed to breastfeed or is she going to sit bolt upright on a chair in the nursery/bedroom?
I loved sitting in these in feeding rooms but at home I was lot more comfy on the sofa or in bed.Just run, run and keep on running!0 -
was just looking at this site a moment ago, are any of these any thing you'd be intrested in?

I too have the swedish chair the type you get in Ikea, it is very comfortable, has a slight natural rock and will look good in a conservatory or play room later on.
I always fed in the night on this chair and would have been lost without it. It was very comfortable, but upright enough to make sure I didn't fall asleep while feeding.
The Gina Ford book recommends not getting one of the sliding rockers as baby can get their fingers caught in it when they are on the move later on0 -
This one looks ok - must be good my missus just ordered it !http://www.kiddicare.com/invt/nurhukgld0

We bought my mum (she is 71) the Cosatto one from Glasgow Pram Centre for her Christmas as she found it very comfortable - I love it too, am tempted to get one for my lounge. It swivels and rocks. No Longer addicted to Boots! - Well not today anyway!! :blushing:

Just bought the HAUCK for £139.99 including footstool on internet from Kiddicare.com. Free P&P too. Partner loves it even though she not had baby yet. (She can now sit comfortably!!).
Good luck0 -
Well we used a good quality reclining plastic garden chair with cushions and a v shaped pillow it did the job, Mrs Crafty could sit upright or recline as needed, it gave her good support and as she is a registered midwife, she wasn’t seduced by the posh stuff. I think we paid about £30 for it it’s still in use in the garden 8 years later :j0

You'd think I was on commission ...
Believe me, it's not that money was no object. I just stalked them on ebay and got a very good deal.
I just love my chair ...0 -
I got a nursing chair...waste of money.
Bad ergonomic design. Holding the baby for breastfeeding meant I always had to be aware that DS head was near the arm of the chair...very easy to bash it.
Gave up trying to use it after a few weeks and did far better on the sofa with a pillow...and no hard armrests nearby.
However, Argos do one quite cheaply I seem to remember.Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

It might be worth waiting until she's found out what position the baby feeds easiest in then trying some out. I needed to sit upright because of my back problems after the birth and would not have coped with one I had to lean back into.
I fed him lying down in bed during the night. It meant I didn't really fully wake up and this was a godsend in the first few months when he woke up every couple of hours.May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0
