Beware of phones 4u and their renewals!
in short i had 18 month contract with Orange through Fones4u,at £39 a month..they offered the cash back at 6 months of all previous 6 months payments...all went well with that surprisingly i got it spot on..
following year in Aug.. i get a call saying"as your at the end of your contract can we interest you in another contract blah blah"..so i went with them to 3 and got new phone, he specifically told me my contract ended in sept and that i was to write to them saying i wanted to end contract as of 29th Sept 08,he even offered the £39 cashback for the last month to get me to agree straight away...all went ok again..got phone and chq..BUT then Orange contact me billing me for £87:eek: coz i owe them 2 months??? i called up Fones4u and told them what i was told by thier salesman, giving his name, and they said they would listen to the recording of conversation to verify, but they never got back to me after a week..so i called again and got someone to sort it out..they have sent me a chq to cover it so it was obviously thier fault..i then thought, why not phone orange and tell them how i was missold this contract and they agreed to waive the bill,so i have a chq i dont need to pass on!!:T

Whats the issue with Phones 4 u?
They told you to write, did you? Every mobile phone contract rolls on after the initial 12 month period. it's down to you to cancel it
I can't see how it's their fault you are the one with the contract with Orange not them?
Or am I missing something here?0 -
yeah prob did not come across right, i DID write a letter to Orange, specifically stating to end contract in sept..but it shouldnt have finished until NOV at earliest..fones4u knew this and were trying to get my business before i started looking elsewhere..Orange and Fones both agreed with me in end..i was just very peed of with fones4u because they lied to me in beginning, then lied about getting back to me after listening to recording..TO FINISH LAST, FIRST YOU HAVE TO FINISH....0

Its always nice when things work out for the consumer after the big companies screw up. Nice bit of extra cash you have got too
