dont know where to start- cheap holiday in july- young (not very loud) singles

hi all looking for ideas for a holiday in july for me and my friends.

there will probably be 3 or 4 of us, possibly up to 6.

we range in age from 20-28, we are not typical people in our 20's though, where most would say club 18-30 that really isnt us, being shepherded from one drinking game to another isnt our scene at all.

also must be cheap, up to about £400 per person for 2 weeks or £300 per person for 1 week is fine, need somewhere with a few bedrooms, as most of us are single, there is one couple, me, my mate (straight blokes the pair of us) and possibly a few others.

we were discussing spain till i suggested a cottage or similar in this country, that went down well, looking at starting holiday 6th july

any ideas?
things arent the way they were before, you wouldnt even recognise me anymore- not that you knew me back then ;)
BH is my best mate too, its ok :)

I trust BH even if he's from Manchester.. ;)

I'd consider the Greek Islands or Turkeyand renting a villa large enough for all of you (or stuidos if you end up with lower numbers). July is school holiday time and prices go up-if none of you work in education it may be worth considering June or September to take advantage of the lower prices.
Another possibility if you stay in this country might be a canal boat holiday if there's 6 of you to spread the cost.

one of the reasons it needs to be cheap is two of them are students and the reason we picked the 6th is the 4th in the last day either are in college/uni (best mate a uni student, his gf is at college) and i can finish on 5th (saturday night)

wont greece be very hot in july..
  • Hi there, unless I'm going mad July 4th 2009 is a Saturday not July 5th.
  • It sounds as if a cottage in this country would be perfect for you.

My husband, my best friend and I are going away over Christmas to the Welsh Coast. 5 nights in a cottage was 300 pounds total.

You would also need to factor in transport of course. We are hiring a car for 160 pounds and we expect fuel to come to around 80 pounds

I recommend Wales, Scotland or Cornwall, lots of beautiful beaches and countryside, nice pubs etc. They're far enough away to be an escape but also less of a stress to get to than going abroad.

Most country cottages have websites - simply do some google searches.
