It sounds as if a cottage in this country would be perfect for you.

My husband, my best friend and I are going away over Christmas to the Welsh Coast. 5 nights in a cottage was 300 pounds total.

You would also need to factor in transport of course. We are hiring a car for 160 pounds and we expect fuel to come to around 80 pounds

I recommend Wales, Scotland or Cornwall, lots of beautiful beaches and countryside, nice pubs etc. They're far enough away to be an escape but also less of a stress to get to than going abroad.

Most country cottages have websites - simply do some google searches.
country cottage was the other idea, i suggested it and my friend leaped in with devon as a suggestion.

hire car is a dilemma at present, best mate drives a starlet, other mate drives a new corsa, so its probably going to be a hire car thats needed (i suggested buying a cheap car and selling it when we got back as a hire car could cost £400+ quite easily and if we buy and then sell when we get back then we get some of the money back (true mse'er or what lol)

edit- just looked into it, £600 for an astra for 2 weeks
things arent the way they were before, you wouldnt even recognise me anymore- not that you knew me back then ;)
BH is my best mate too, its ok :)

I trust BH even if he's from Manchester.. ;)
