Holiday on Tesco clubcard!

Hi,
I've not had a proper holiday before (just camped/ travelodge) But we have £250 of clubcard vouchers that could get us £1000 of holiday company vouchers.

Companies you can use include Cresta and Tradewinds I think from memory.

I've no idea how to start seeing if this is feesible, or if we need to carry on saving for another year!

Has anyone holidays curtesy of Tesco clubcard before? Just wondered how much the cheapest sort of holiday would cost really and whether you have to exchange your clubcard points and book in advance, or can cash them in and hope to see a last minute deal come up in a travel agents?

Any help for a novice family gratefully recieved.

Gus x
Ps we are 2 adults and 3 kids, so I think I am expecting a bit much really for our money!

  • Hi Gus,we are off to Disneyland Paris next week, courtesy of Mr T! (£600 - £150 in Tesco vouchers). You have to have your vouchers to make the booking as with Cresta/Bridge they have to reach them within 3 days of booking (send special delivery).Find what you want and check availability and price, then fill the form in for the Tesco vouchers. They are quite quick to arrive - ring and book the holiday - say you are paying with vouchers. I think you may have to pay a deposit which is refunded when the vouchers get to them, we were going within 6 weeks of paying, so I had to pay in full and it was refunded about 3 days later.
  • Thanks Louisa Jane

(Was so worried I'd either get no replys or be laughed at!)

But was hoping people would be sympathetic as it is a money saving site!

How many of you are going for £600 and for how many nights?

Thanks for the really useful advice about how to coordinate it/ pay!

There are 5 of us - 3 children, so we have to stay at Davy Crockett Ranch( which is actually rather nice - quite peaceful after the razzamatazz!)You stay in mobile homes that are made to look like log cabins and sleep 6 people. We are going for 4 nights - it's the cheap time at the moment - free kids and an extra night free, but it's great as there are no queues!! A few years ago we booked a villa in the south of France through Cresta with the vouchers, but it is quite an expensive way to do that(cheaper to go direct to the owner).
  • Hi !
We booked up with Haven at one of their cornwall sites. May cost us only £350 for a nice gold caravan !!
It was easy with the clubcard points, I phoned Haven, booked the holiday (paid a deposit tho as I really didnt want to lose out on seaveiw) sent off my clubcard vouchers to tesco and when they returned the deal vouchers posted them off (special delivery) to Haven ! easy as pie and as cheap as chips lol. Have fun looking for your holiday, UK hols with Haven etc are BOGOF compared to holidays abroad to you could manage on 1000 2 hols this year in the uk or 1 abroad :santa2:
If you want to get ahead in the Rat Race then you will need some faster Rats !!

Whats the best way to get clubcard points please? I only have a fiver on my clubcard so that wont get us very far ?
    Thanks
On the internet you can be anything you want. It`s strange so many people choose to be rude and stupid.
  • Just reading about camping reminded me- we used our vouchers about 4 years ago with haven europe - I don't think you can do that now, but camping in France is a fantastic holiday. I think you can use your vouchers with French Life, which have a section on camping in their brochure.
  • Thanks for all the extra info Louisa Jane :)

Thats good to know that 5 people can get away for under £1000!

Will look into the `french life' camping too!

    Cheers

I get most by shopping online and using the extra point vouchers from the voucher forum on here! Like an extra 1000 by spending £50 etc!

They add up a lot faster that way!
