Hello,
Has anyone else signed up to Axis Telecom for broadband and not been able to connect until ringing their support line? Below are details of what happened to me.
I recently signed up to Axis Telecom for internet. After receiving the modem, I connected it and followed the straight forward instructions. I was unable to connect to the ISP even though I have set up several networks for friends, family and myself before. After checking and double checking everything I decided to give in and phone the premium rate support line (£1/min). After performing a "systems check" they asked me to run through the set-up again. I done EXACTLY the same as I had tried several times before but for some reason it now worked. I was surprised but thought it was just one of them things.
A week later I decided to go wireless so bought a compatible wireless modem router. I replaced the other modem and ran though the simple set-up. All I had to do was enter my username and password so there wasn't much to go wrong. Every time I tried I received an error saying the ISP wouldn't accept my details. Again I rang the support line and again they ran a "systems check" and asked me to run through the setup again. This time, when I got to the setp-up screen, all my details were already there from previous attempts. So I did not change a single thing. After clicking OK, surprise, surprise it worked.
In total I spent 15 - 20 minutes on the phone (£15 - £20). I'm concerned that they do not grant access until you have rang them up.
