i know it seems as though you have done a bit of research re your car, but do you know/could you find out if this is a common problem? I used to own a C2, bought it brand new and had nothing but trouble with it as it had a faulty alternator plus numerous other things from new. in the end i put it in and got a ford instead but then found out that lots of others had the same problem which i think is why my local dealer pulled them as courtesy cars. like you say Citroen aren't very helpful at all but i'm sure they have some kind of obligation considering your mileage, i was doing more about this each year in mine which is why i think they hated me so much!
I know that things look bad but your signature proves that you can reduce your debt, i'm sure someone else will come along that can help you more than i can. I just wanted to say i'm thinking off youDebts all paid!!!:j0 -
hi pip, it's a citroen c2 furio sensodrive. computerised gearbox. would not recommend one to anyone. ended up in this financial situation due to hubby's income dropping drastically. It was an overnight 'bang, crash, wallop' situation. have checked all benefit entitlements and aren't entitled to anything. have got back to Lloyds tsb regarding bank charges. had a letter just last week regarding the financial hardship letter I sent asking them for the income/expenditure necessaries. They have basically just ignored my request and just reiterated the 'test case'. I spoke to my branch manager and he basically laughed in my face and told me he's never heard of the waiver and phoned customer support to ask them. they apparently said the same. as we all know, there IS a waiver in place and i'm ready to throttle someone in Lloyds. i'm really up against it. I have a huge electricity debt (currently £830) due to a situation that started years ago when I switched suppliers with no one accepting responsibility for my supply then finally getting swalec to bill me, then having loads of estimated bills as I was running away from the huge debt that had built up. swalec are now charging me £150 per month !!!!!
I appreciate all your help guys.
thanks. you're a great bunch.0 -

Please speak to the Finacial Ombudsman as they are furious with banks who do not respond to hardship cases. Read here http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/oft-bank-charges#hardshipIf you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
Thanks Ras. I was up to my £200 O/D limit on my account and I needed a temporary extension for about 7-10 days as I had my Lloyds tsb loan being paid and Knew I wouldn't have enough funds as at the time the dreaded car had failed the M.O.T. They refused point blank to authorise it but paid themselves anyway and called it 'unauthorised' and charged me a fortune for the privelage. my account now stands at £410 O/D which is £210 over my limit and they are currently charging me £15 per day for the privelage. I have begged them not to put any more charges on and give me a chance to clear this, I phoned them practically unable to speak because I was crying so badly. thye just utter those immortal words 'well i'm sorry but there's nothing we can do'. I had to change accounts prior to all of this because I was in a situation where they kept taking money from my account to pay off hubby's credit card when he was late thus causing other direct debits to go belly up and more charges etc etc. They are heartless and immoral and care for no one. And their motto 'Britain's most trusted bank' !!!!!
When we were doing well they cornered us at every opportunity to sell us something else. As soon as we encountered problems they turned their backs and got heavy on us.0 -
Oh dear I am so sorry to hear you are so upset about everything,
the guys on here are wonderful people and they will do there upmost to help you.
AS REGARDS your car we brought one from fords once brand new But 2 years down the line got a leak where from we dont know nor did they they had my car for 6 months in their workshops on mahines the lot But could not see where the leak was comming from in the roof
after a long battle and threatening paper action they replaced as faulty
DON'T GIVE UP fight for your rights..
Good Luck0 -
thanks ambershadow. do you know i've met the nicest bunch of people on here. you're all fantastic. My hubby's manager has just said something about phoning trading standards as we own less than half of the car and it's in a bad way we may be able to do something. fingers crossed.
In the meantime, we have had a wonderful show of support from family and my brother in law has given us a car that needs new brakes and tax but has a good M.O.T on it. And my mother in law is paying for the brakes and tax on it for us. So out of the rain comes some sunshine. It looks as if this day has ended on a positive note. And thanks to all of your support I can make more sense of things and get on with the necessary debt repayment plan.
Will post a SOA on here tomorrow but for now I feel worn out so don't want to post it and miss things out. i'd rather do it with a clear head.
You're just a magic bunch!
THANK YOU!0 -

All the best:jYou can have everything you wont in lfe, If you only help enough other people to get what they wont.:j0 -
OK let's see. You're paying HP on a car. You don't have use of the car 'cos it's bust. Solution - stop paying the HP. The finance company will repossess. And they're welcome to the car back.
I'm assuming you're in arrears with other debts - you may as well be in arrears to the HP company too. Worst case - they repossess then take you to court for the balance. The court will only make you pay what you can afford. My Debt Free Diary I owe:
July 16 £19700 Nov 16 £18002
Aug 16 £19519 Dec 16 £17708
Sep 16 £18780 Jan 17 £17082
Oct 16 £178730
