Need Guidance Please

I'm letting my old contract run still (Vodaphone through Singlepoint, 750 off peak mins (landline/Vodaphone) + 50 texts = £14 pcm

I've had it for as long as I can think and my phone is now very old :-/

I have carried forward 2018 mins and probably only use about 15 texts a month.

I'd like a much better camera phone so really ought to change my contract, but these are my dilemmas

My kids live away from home, one's on a T Mobile contract (Mix It to prevent huuuuuge bills landing at home) ::) and the other (although she may change I don't know what to) is currently on Orange. Other half is on 02 which has appalling reception where we live, but it's a work phone. 02 is therefore out for me.

It probably makes most sense for me to use T Mobile, as this is the best way of contacting my one daughter, and I would use my phone much more if I could do that 'all inclusive' .....but they don't include the Isle of Man in their 'home' tariff like Vodaphone do, and I don't think they roll over minutes either do they?

Daughter who is likely to change networks is a heavy text user, and calls X Network at any time. Should I steer her in the direction of T Mobile too?

The Isle of Man calls need not be top factor since reading here I have discovered 18866. So my main objective is to get a great new phone, a cheap monthly fee, and to be able to ring T Mobile + possibly other networks depending on other daughter.

Given all these random factors, has anyone got any really bright ideas please? because my research so far is just confusing me.

Suggestions all greatly received. Thanks

  • You could do worse than check out some of the special deals at https://www.forwardcellular.com They do some great cashback offers that cover the line rental.
    To infinity and beyond!
  • Would say that your best bet as Mike says is https://www.forwardcellular.com - get a Nokia 3100 with 750mins off peak for £60 (cashback). This is assuming that most of your calls are off peak.
As to the camera phone - get the Sony T610 in Reestit's post for £4.99 a month - you can reduce this still further by £20 trade in on an old phone and £11 through Rpoints. So effectively £29.

Sell the Nokia for £40 or so - and your left with a camera phone (probably already unlocked) with 750 mins off peak and a BT SIm with 100 mins peak for £50 for the year.
  • Thankyou, I'm going to question daughter further about which network she might change to, and take a look at those links
