  • Even accounting for 'weighting' based on the desertion of those already compensated by the FSCS,the 'no's are greater than I anticipated.
  • Just in case anybody on this forum missed my post already on Nilrems camp, I am repeating it here:
    ======================================================

    I know I have been scathing in my criticism of the FSCS and don't read this as a change of heart. I just thought that maybe our expectations have been incorrect.
    So I am going to give the FSCS the benefit of the doubt and apply some arithmetic to the subject (which of course I invite anyone to check and agree or disagree with - as if you needed to be told lol)
    Total number of ICesave account holders I believe was 230,000.

    Let's suppose that 10% for one reason or another cannot be paid electronically. That leaves 207,000.
    FSCS reported on 21st November over 100,000 sent.
    So approx. that's another 107,000 over the remaining 9 days.
    At the end of Sunday 23rd, remainder should be 83,222 which over the remaining 7 days is 11,888 per day.
    If in this forum, we have about 40 no-email active contributors plus another 40 no-email shall we say 'lurking' in the shadows, then we have 80 in total.
    SO we have c12,000 emails per day to send out but only 80 waiting on this forum which explains why we don't see much action.
    We are probably a much smaller sample of the total than we believe we are.
    To reiterate, even if the FSCS is meeting its target, there are still over 83,000 emails to send.(please let one of them be mine)
    From now, on this forum, we could expect about 11 per day reported here based on population of 80 (or 5 based on 40) and IF everybody reports AND IF the FSCS are being honest. Which also leads me to the unsettling conclusion that in previous days, we should have seen even more.
    Not sure what to think now.
  • Much as I would love to vote 'yes' I'm afraid I'm with 75% of you in having to vote 'no'

    Shame on you. You are nothing but a 'YES' man.... or woman .. or girl...
    Anyway, just the type I like, can i have your telno?
  • No sweat. I have'nt had mine yet but I am sure it will come eventually. Meantime, staying cool means a lot more to me than the loss of a month or two's interest.
