Will Woolies honour gift vouchers

I never knew Woolies were in trouble. But yeah, it doesn't look good so do spend them now just in case.0

They have stopped selling selling gift vouchers.0

they might have stopped selling them, but they are still handing out gift vouchers as 'change' for gift vouchers.
I spent the last of mine this morning.0 -
Thanks to everyone - but it's not that easy getting to shops in the mid-week. Also, the vouchers were for children who don't know what they want and what other people will be buying them. I'll just have to hope for the best until the weekend.
Next year it's going to be cash all round!0 -
I spent my vouchers yesterday and got cash as change (£5), vouchers are now being put through the tills as cash - in the Derby branch anyway.0

We were talking about Woolies today at work. It is sad. I had my first Saturday job in Woolies 40 years ago, and got paid the eqivilant of £1.50 for the day.rubytwilight wrote: »Just been on news be open to Christmas at least. I hope woolies stays open hugely nostalgic
I had to wear a dreadful turqoise overall with a big flared skirt. I was in charge of curtain rails. The customers told me what length curtain rail they wanted and I went off upstairs to cut them to size and roll them up.
You wouldn't send a 15 year old alone with a saw now.lol
Yes very sad to see the end of a shop that has been around for so many years.Anyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination:beer:

This is my first post, so please be patient if it's in the wrong place!
I just had a Woolworths store (Metro Centre) try to refuse to accept one of their own refund cards (similar to gift cards but specifically for them to put credit on for you when you take stuff back for refunds).
All the cashiers said they had been told not to accept any refund cards "because of the problems". After persisting, the manager decided to accept it in the end, but it was a very bad experience, so I would advise any cards to be used asap.June GC 21st May - 20th June (£78/£200)0 -
That is worrying as I have a Woolworths refund card with quite a bit on it. I don't see on what grounds they can refuse to accept refund cards they have issued themselves? This is my first post, so please be patient if it's in the wrong place!

Does anyone know the official policy so that I can go armed when I try to spend mine?0 -
I have "dealed" my son a bit of a dog eared £10 voucher that had been in his wallet for a time.
What is the situation please anyone , I havnt used vouchers for years, do they have to be in pristine condition or do they take into consideration they may have been kept folded up in wallets and purses
