car battery - really necessary to use distilled water??

    What percentage of cars on the road actually have a battery that needs topping up? Even many classic cars will have a sealed battery fitted.

    my granddad taught me to "make" my own battery top-up water from the frost inside my freezer. After letting it melt we just used a jug to top up the battery. The only thing was to use the frost from the top/freezing element, not the bottom of the freezer( that way you avoided the odd stray pea and other food particles).

    I don't know what difference it made to tap water, but it always worked :)
    My £2 savings total for 2007 = £92, for 2008 = £124
    My savings from money off coupons for 2007 = £67.97, for 2008 = £194.79
    My £2 savings for 2009 (so far) = £130
    My savings from money off coupons for 2009 = £593.08
